Etiquette & Politeness
The use of the website is already described in the terms of use.
Why is then a similar topic here?
Our primary goal is to provide a pleasant user experience for the users of this platform. This means that users who are mis-using the platform or act somehow against the rules of the system or act against our code of conduct will be subject to restrictions.
What is our code of conduct?
The code of conduct's basics are a respectful behaviour on the platform:
-
Be respectful. Everyone has different feelings and opinions and it is important to respect this online. You may wish to comment on something someone has shared but always remember that behind every account is a real person.
-
Be aware of how your comments might be read: Strong language, capital letters, and exclamation marks can be easily misinterpreted online. In the real world we have the addition of body language, tone of voice and facial expressions to help us understand what someone has said. We also have the opportunity to re-phrase what we say if we’re misunderstood in the offline world. When you are online, these are missing.
-
Be careful with humour and sarcasm. It’s always great to share jokes with others and it is important to be yourself online and let your personality shine through. However, not everything is always clear online and sometimes people might not realise you are joking. Often people rely on emojis or text speak, eg ‘lol’, to help show they are not being serious, but it isn’t guaranteed other people will understand this.
-
Think about who can see what you have shared. Privacy settings are a simple way to restrict who can see what you are sharing, but even with them in place nothing is ever truly private online. Make sure you keep as much of your personal information off the internet as possible and never share anything inappropriate or that may get you into trouble.
-
Be forgiving. The online world can be very different from the offline world so try to be understanding of others when they struggle with online communication. If you see something online that you don’t think is appropriate, you can use reporting tools to flag it to the site’s safety team. Remember that not everyone will know these rules before posting or realise that they have upset someone else.

What to do if ...
you feel someone is behaving against the code of conduct?
We have established a role of a compliance officer, who is here to listen.
- Users can contact the compliance email address anonymously. We recommend $using a "throw away email address" (use your browsers search engine to find some). A telephone call might do as well or a SMS.
- Users can contact the compliance email address or the admin with full disclosure
You can contact via the compliance officer per mail as compliance@dezire.life, and other contact channels as noted in the footer.
Our procedures if ...
The compliance officer investigates the complaint, and if a violation of code of conduct is recognized, sends an email to "offending" user ID, and userID gets temporarily de-activated.
To keep the originally "offended" user anonymous, the "offending" user ID has to write an "I'm sorry" email to compliance officer. The compliance officer will forward this mail to the original user. and rectivates the account.
If a user ID has three "complaints" in a week, automathe system automatically de-activates the user's account, and informs the compliance officer. At the same time an informational message on this investigation is sent to the offending userID.
If user ID has received three warnings, the 4th warning will ternminate the account.
